مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى اللهُ عَليهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَاحِبُ الخُلُقِ العَظيم Muhammad the Messenger of Allah, The one with supreme manners Praise be to Allah and may Allah increase the honour and raise the rank of our Master Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
O people, we are now in the Lunar month of Rabi^ Ul-Awal; the month in which a great blessing descended upon us; the birth of Prophet Muhammad. On the 12th of Rabi^ ul-‘Awal of every year this honoured and glorified memory of the Mawlid shines over the universe and is commemorated by the entire Muslim world. We have come together on this special occasion of the Mawlid to celebrate the birth of the best of creation and last Prophet. He is Muhammad whom Allah gave every commended trait mentioned in the Qur'an. He is Muhammad, the one who accepted what the honourable Qur’an deems acceptable; the one who complied with the mannerisms and conducts ordained in the Qur’an. He is Muhammad whom Allah the Merciful has sent as mercy to the world. He is Muhammad, the most courageous and brave amongst men. He is Muhammad the best, the most truthful and the most trustworthy human. He is Muhammad whose his mercy was not restricted to humans only it, rather it encompassed the animals as well. Such was the case that when a cat would come to him, many a time he would lower the pot to make it easy for the cat to drink. He is Muhammad, who used to help the poor, the needy and the widowed. He used to sit and eat with the slaves and was never pretentious whilst amongst them. He used to say: “I’m only a slave of Allah; I eat as the slave of Allah eats, and I sit as he sits.” Verse 4 of Surat al-Qalam clarified his manners: (وإِنَّكَ لَعَلَى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ)
It means: "Verily, your manners are distinguished and great." When Lady ^A’ishah may Allah raise her rank was asked on one occasion about the Prophet’s manners, she said: "His manners were what the Qur'an ordered to do." And on another occasion she said: “He was of exceptional decency, and never spent his time during the day in the markets with the purpose of collecting money. He never mistreated those who mistreated him. Instead, he used to pardon and forgive.” In reference to his generosity- it was vast. Imam Muslim related that Anas said: “The Messenger of Allah used do whatever would benefit Islam, upon request. Once a man came to him asking for some support, the Prophet gave him his own sheep that were grazing between two mountains. That man returned to his people and said: “O people embrace Islam, for Muhammad’s kindness knows no fear of poverty.” Much could be said as well in reference to his humbleness, his detachment from the worldly interests, and his devotion for the Hereafter. Al-Bayhaqiyy, at-Tirmidhiyy, and Ibn Majah related ^that Abdullah said: The Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam one day lay down on a cane mat, which left some marks on his skin. So I tried Abdullah continues, to smooth away those traces from his skin and I said: ‘You are dearer to me than my father and my mother, would you permit us to lay something on the floor for you to sleep on to protect you from the markings of the mat? He said: “worldly matters do not interest me and I have no interest in them I am just like a passer by who shaded himself under a tree and left it when he departed." Such is Muhammad the one for whom the hearts long for and are comforted by. His words were of guidance; his presence was of guidance, his work was of guidance and he left us guidance when he departed. If he kept silent he exerted veneration whereas when he spoke he captivated the hearts, sights and attentions. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), said: “If anyone innovates in our religion a matter which does conform to the rules of the religion then it is rejected.” Hence, the deeds are not accepted unless they comply with the rules of the religion. Knowing what complies and what does not with the rules of the religion requires acquiring the knowledge explained by the scholars. Reading books without acquiring this knowledge through a learning process from scholarly routes is inadequate. In fact, some people were lost in the darkness of ignorance and consequently committed blasphemy because they did not follow the valid method of acquiring knowledge. They merely read scholarly books and turned pages, applying their own interpretations of what they have read. Let us also pause for a moment and consider the dangers that befall those who read the books which are full of fabrications, rejected exaggerations in religious matters, lies about the Religion, and the likening of Allah to His creations. We ask Allah for refuge from all of that. Among such popular books which were slipped into the markets falsely in the name of Islam is the book called “Mawlidul-^Arus”. Despite the fact that the true Islamic belief states that Allah is not attributed with a face or hands or a body, this book mentions that Allah ( the following statement is a blasphemy in Islam) took a handful of His face and said to it: “Be Muhammad” so it became Muhammad. This statement attributes to Allah ta^ala bodily parts. Allah ta^ala is clear from having parts and is clear from dwelling in things, and is clear being the product of things. Allah said: (لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ) The Ayah means: nothing is an extension of Him and He did not originate from anything.” This is the creed of the noble Salaf (the Muslims of the first three centuries after migration) and of those who followed them- the people that clear Allah from resembling the creations. As for those Wahhabis whose name has been widely publicized; the ones who write with many pens, and have published a number of magazines spreading sedition; they are a people who carry the tribulations inflicted upon them by their grand father Mohammad Ibn Abdul-Wahab. They have committed the blasphemy of likening Allah to the creations, and have degraded the prophet in addition to deeming all Muslims as apostates. Yes! The Wahhabis believe that Allah sits on the throne and resemble Allah to His creations, when in fact Allah has said in the Quran: ”ليس كمثله شىء“ This Ayah means: ‘Nothing is like Him’. Also, our Master the scholar of Tawhid (the knowledge of the Islamic beliefs), Imam ^Aliy Ibn Abi Taleb said: ‘Allah existed when nothing else did and He is now as He was eternally, without a place.’ And said: ‘Allah created the throne as a sign of His power and not to take it as a place for Him to sit on.’ O gracious Muslims know that those Wahhabis are limiting the progress of the Muslim in the world. They inhibit those they wish to restrict and pass judgments of apostasy freely as they desire. One of them has even proclaimed that three quarters of the Muslims are now heretic. They aspire to aim their bullet at every Muwahid (i.e. the believer in the Oneness of Allah), at every Munazih (i.e. the Muslim who clears Allah from the imperfection of resembling the creations) and at every loving follower of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This is why you are all required to reject those people and to warn against them. They are the people who destroyed the Arab world and are destroying other countries and nations in the name of Islam. Nonetheless, if the Wahhaby people spend all their wealth to induce hatred in the hearts of the Muslim’s towards the Prophet, they will never succeed by the will of Allah, the Lord of the worlds. In this month, Muslims commemorate the birth of the Master of all prophets our Master Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
This great prophet came with a great shari^yah (law) indicating what is: lawful (halal); unlawful (haram); obligatory (wajib); recommended (sunnah); disliked (makruh); valid (sahih); invalid (batil). He who learns the personal obligatory knowledge and passes it on to his parents, wife, kids, beloved ones and/or neighbours, has indeed won a great deal and shall be rewarded in the hereafter. Dear Muslims do attend Religious Knowledge lessons and implement what you learn so that you may become full followers of the Messenger of Allah- Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
